Many companies make a product, whether it is a website or a mobile application, and some of the officials and managers of these companies are of the opinion that all the work is correct due to the effort made, which is usually a really big effort, and that this product provides great value to its users, but they are surprised after the start stage and the product's launch to the market that the number of users is not large or whoever used the application once did not use it again.
We ask the important question: Where is the problem?
From our experience in the field, we can say that most of the problems can be summarized in these points:
1- Value Proposition
I made the product in a distinctive way, with a professional design, and dealing with it is very easy, and there is no problem on the technical side. Of course, this is an important thing and makes a difference, but the user does not benefit from anything necessary, and the product does not fulfill a specific desire or need.
What value does the product offer in this case?
There is no real value in this product
2- Usability
This point is the opposite of the previous part, meaning that the product actually has added value, and the value may be great for the target group of users, but they struggle in dealing with the product or accessing these features within the product _ a website or mobile application _ and accessing them requires a great effort.
In order to avoid this step, you must do a usability test to confirm the problems that users may face and solve them.
Are these all the problems?
Of course not. There are many problems facing any product, such as:
– Branding
– Target group and dealing with them Segmentation
– Unique Value Proposition
– Many other problems, but I mentioned the most famous problems in this part
Your role as a user experience designer is to solve these problems and it is your responsibility in the first place. This does not negate the responsibility of the administrative or business part and its impact on the product as well, such as after-sales service, product pricing, or the technical aspect.
Let us begin by explaining the steps that will help you avoid falling into the problems I talked about:
✅ The first and most important step is to recognize the role and value of the user experience design phase and pay attention to it in a practical way, whether it is the UX Research phase or the Interaction Design phase
Although knowledge of UX Design has spread practically in recent years, there are some companies that still do not care about the user experience design stage or work to implement it incorrectly or incompletely
This means that the company may care about the design in terms of colors and shape, but not pay attention
Usability for the user is the most important element in the success of any product or service, or the company is interested in design and use and the design is not useful or does not provide real value to the user and at this stage there is no benefit from the product and it will be used once or twice at most.
Given the importance of this point and also the concept of user centrality in the design process, companies must focus on achieving positive results that link the needs of the user needs with the goals of the company Business Objects.
Since UX Strategy is very important and is considered the link between business and design, I will show examples that you can use in applying this step:
✅ Business strategy: Here you must know the business goals and make sure that they are achievable or not.
1️⃣ Stockholders interviewing.
2️⃣ Competitors Analysis.
These are not the only methods, but they are among the most famous methods that can help you at this stage.
✅ Thus, we have reached the second stage, which is User Research. The most famous method will be to conduct User Interviewing, which is the step of conducting interviews with a group of targeted users. The goal is to know details about the user and achieve empathy with the Empathizing user
Here the goal is to obtain the most useful insights or information from the user. Mostly, the designer expects what the user will say, but surprises with different scenarios and needs, and this will lead us to new insights.
✅ The results of the research phase can be transferred in more than one way, such as:
1️⃣ Personas
2️⃣ Empathy maps
If you have reached this point, you will have understood Business, Market & Users and will be ready to start the product design phase. Just as ease of use is important, the design must be distinctive and beautiful.
✅ However, there is a possibility that the product will not succeed from its first appearance in the market. It is natural for the product to appear and start hearing users' opinions, then modifying the product according to the request. This stage is called Iteration and constantly trying to solve problems until the product is ready to launch and spread
And that's it, this was the end of our topic. You can see more topics about UI & UX, which you will meet directly when you start your journey in the field of UX Design, which will be able to put you at the beginning of the road and make
Let's talk about your project!
